Base Price

You will see the term "Base Price" used many times on SignSite's documentation. The purpose for this article is to shed some light on what Base Price is and why we use it.

Base Price is SignSite's recommended retail price. This is referred to as Base Price because it is our recommended starting point. Base Price will always mean our recommended starting point, but may be may be used in slightly different ways based on the following products.

Base Price within our SignSite Pro series of products

All of our SignSite Pro sites are delivered to you with all pricing set to our recommended retail price (Base Price). As the licensee of a SignSite Pro site you have the ability to raise or lower your prices from our Base Price. You can do this across the board on all products or you can target each product individually. For example you can lower the cost of Vinyl Lettering 15%. Only your Vinyl Lettering prices would be lowered, all other areas of the site would continue to be priced at our Base Price.

Base Price within our Fundraising and Edentity corp. series of products

All of the products in this category include a free website with specially designed products for each organization. These web stores will come with the prices set at Base Price (Retail) plus 20%. The organization can choose to raise or lower this price by logging into their administration area. They will not be able to lower it below the Base Price. If they did choose to lower the prices to Base Price, the organization would not make any monies. With the programs within this series of products our distributors will receive 20% of the base price for each item sold from these web stores. The organization will also receive whatever percentage they have chosen to mark the item up above the Base Price. For example if a school were to join our SchoolBarn program they would receive a web store with prices set at 20% above Base Price. In this scenario an item selling for $12 would mean the school would receive approximately $2 and the Distributor would receive approximately $2. The remaining $8 would go to SchoolBarn for producing the product and the web store.

So the next time you see Base Price in one of our articles or product descriptions remember Base Price is always our current retail price. Also you will know that with our Fundraising/Edentity web store programs, it is the price our distributors will base their commissions from. It is also the starting price the organizations will use when marking their product up.
